How about this for a clear sign of how media is converging? On Monday night, The Washington Post won its first national Emmy.

The award was for its video coverage of Hurricane Katrina, which was produced by the WashingtonPost.com’s senior videojournalist Travis Fox.

It is the second time the Post has snatched a gong for its video work. This national award marks a recognition of “outstanding achievement in content for non-traditional delivery platforms”.

For Jim Brady, executive editor of WashingtonPost.com, it shows “power and potential of multimedia storytelling on the web.”
