The director of CBC Radio 3, Steve Pratt, spoke to my students taking the first-year undergraduate stream in New Media and Society at the University of British Columbia, about the station’s multiplatform media strategy.

Thank you! Your outstanding seminar affirms that writing with user interaction in mind is the most important online editing skill. That helps consumers to take action by showing them what to do with the information, in all the ways they love getting it, including our experiments with emerging methods.

You gave a great presentation. It was well-paced and the real-world examples of planning an intuitive experience – one that anticipates consumers’ information needs as it drives their online behaviour to meet business objectives – will work for every industry.

Love the ’sampling’ option for first timers. Like a charming host at a party, consumers get you care about them AND care about making sure they have a great online experience with high-quality content. Kudos for acknowledging UGC providers for doing so (e.g., awards = niiice).
