		<description>When I grew up in the UK during the 1960s and 70s there was barely any advertising in the big daily national newspapers. They made plenty of revenue from copy sales.

OK, I agree this isn&#039;t how things worked in the US and I&#039;m not saying it is the way forward. But back then British readers considered the news bundle to be worth the cover price and somewhere along the way newspaper proprietors were making a tidy profit.</description>
