Making sense of the intersection between media, society and technology
I’m in Cardiff for the Future of Journalism conference, hosted by School of Journalism at Cardiff University.
Over the next two days, academics from around the world will present research on topics as diverse as user-generated content, Twitter, journalism education and new business models.
There are close to hundred presentations after a plenary session with speakers James Curran and Bettina Peters, which will be streamed live.
There is also a Flickr account for conference photos and there will also be updates on Twitter via twitter.com/fojconference and the hash tag #foj09 for conference tweets.
I’m hoping to blog and tweet from the conference, which offers a wealth of riches.
I’m fortunate to be chairing a panel on user-generated content, and presenting a paper talking about Twitter as journalism.
This blog is run by Professor Alfred Hermida, an award-winning online news pioneer, digital media scholar and journalism educator.
