The Networked Scholar was the talk Alfred Hermida gave at the Worldviews Conference on Media and Higher Education in Toronto on 16 June 2011.
It examined how social media was changing the way scholars disseminate their research, and raised the question that follows from that: if the route from a finding to its readers no longer runs only through journals and conferences, how should academic authority be evaluated?
